21) If you had the gift of telepathy, the ability to read other people’s minds, would you use this gift or not? Explain. (Middle East Technical University/93)
People might ask ‘how do you read other peoples mind?’ well like, in the game of poker, everyone has “tells.” Getting to know a person and their ‘tells’ is the key. You must know the mannerism of your subject to know what they are thinking.
If I had the ability to reads people’s mind I would be like Professor Xavier from X-Men. Professor Xavier was the best telepathic person who could control anyone’s mind and play with their thoughts. Similarly I would like to enter peoples brain and be able to see what’s going on inside. Everyone is always very curious to know the thoughts of another person.
If I had the ability to read people’s mind then I wouldn’t have to make informed guesses based on their life experiences and also wouldn’t have to pay attention to details: such as eye contact, gestures, body language and modulation of voice, instead you would know it all.
Sitting in an exam hall for two hours, not knowing answers to half the question is a good time to ask for the this gift of telepathy. Looking back at my past i remember sitting for a math test not knowing a thing, i just wished i could read my math teachers mind and come to know all the answers. Only in times of trouble do people really wish that they could be someone else or think like another person who is much more sensible.
I think the gift of telepathy is not something you can just do. You have to develop it naturally. Sorry, we all want that ability but unfortunately there are only a handful of people that claim they can do it there is not definate number that actually have the gift of telepathy.
