104) What is your favorite quotation and why? (Princeton)
As Mohandas K. Gandhi once said “where there is love there is life.”
Imagine living in a society where people judged others for who they were and what they believed in. People have to go through the worst challenges to get to the best. Anyone can give up; it’s the easiest thing to do. Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it’s right.
According to this quote, ‘Love’ doesn’t necessary have to refer to a couple who are in love. Love can just mean happiness. It doesn’t take too much effort or too much of anyone’s time to put a smile on somebody’s face. If you show simple random act of kindness in you daily life it can benefit the society. Everyone is special and has some sort of talent in them. To let the people know that they are special you can simply make use of the magic words that some people were taught when they were young: Thank You, Welcome, Please, Great are just a few of them. When you make use of these magic words it tells people that you appreciate them for who they are. It shows the token of appreciation.
I personally can’t think of myself living without friends. Friends are an important part of my social life. I wonder how life would be without them. They are my moral support for almost everything I do. When life pulls me down a step they help me get back up. When things aren’t going my way, they help me realize that life will throw a lot more opportunities at me later, which I can grab and make use of.
Studying in a boarding school for more than five years, I have truly understood that where there is love there is life. The more you give, the more you get.
